Balanced?

I'm not talking about your center of balance on the Wii Fit. I've been listening to several conference talks about intensity, passion, and being balanced. It seems this all fit into having good common sense and an image of the big picture you're working towards.

I've been thinking about what I spend the most time pondering, and where my thought process should revolve around. I was looking for advice on how to remain balanced yet have intensity about the things that matter most. How do you keep balanced? Do you feel you are intense? My weekly regimen has been thrown off by some crazy work hours, so now you know what brought this up. How do you stay consistent in your goals?

This is me when I swallowed a beach ball

So I ran across these pictures the other day and have been meaning to blog them. This is for those of you who read my blog, but never had the pleasure of witnessing my HUGENESS. Honestly, how did I even manage to walk around?? And Sydney is quite the comedian isn't she?

A Bean Moment

I'm watching hockey off the DVR. It's about halfway through the game, when Lisa pulls up her laptop to watch the episode of the office we missed last week. I asked her to wait until the game is over, to which she says:

"They're only in their second trimester."

(For those of you not hockey savvy, there are three periods the game).

50 books for 2009

So among all my other resolutions for 2009 I have decided to strive for reading 50 books this year. After reading our friend, Okie's blog I have been inspired. I thought I read a lot of books and now realize I don't. I went back and listed all the books I read in 2008. Here's my list:
1. The Goose Girl
2. Enna Burning
3. River Secrets
4. Book of a Thousand Days
5. Austenland
6. Princess Academy (yeah I kinda fell in love with Shannon Hale books)
7. Confessions of a Shopaholic
8. Shopaholic takes Manhattan
9. Shopaholic ties the Knot
10. Can you keep a Secret?
11. The Truth about Six-pack Abs
12. The Host
13. Breaking Dawn
14. For One More Day
15. The Secret Life of Bees
16. Rapunzel's Revenge
Now my mom recently de-junked her house and gave us all our old books. So I have plenty of old high school novels I plan to revisit. If anyone would like to offer me suggestions of books to read or let me borrow :) I will happily take you up on it!

Another Sydney moment

So I ended up sick in bed most of today. I felt pretty crappy this morning, but still made it to church since we are substituting in a primary class. I hope hope hope I did not give this to any of the kids there. I got much more sick this afternoon and spent the rest of the day laying in bed. Sydney provided me some great entertainment though. Here are a few things she said today that made me laugh.

Sydney (while leafing through my scriptures and pretending to read): And Jesus says to be nice.... And now I will turn the time over to you. (Handing me back my scriptures.)

Sydney: My tummy is hurting and I think I will throw up. (Nobody can be sick without her pretending to be sick too.) My tummy wants to throw up and then it just goes "no, no stop doing it!" and the little fellers inside just go grumble, grumble, grumble.

Sydney: Mommy, I think I want your bathroom and you can have my bathroom. We can switch! (Sounding as if she has just made the best suggestion ever.)
Me: But your bathroom is closer to your room.
Sydney: We will just push your bed over and move my bed right here next to it. (Starts trying to push the bed out of the way.)

GO UTES!

Watch the ESPN analysts break it down. Always a lot of respect for Mark May. I hope ESPN keeps him on contract for years.
