Oh the joys of potty training. Natalie decided to show some interest back in January when I found her in the bathroom sitting on the toilet with her diaper on the floor. I would love to not have 3 children in diapers in a few months so we're giving potty training a try. She did really well for the first few days but she's lost interest a little bit. Surprisingly, she seems to do best on Sundays at church. She really likes using public restrooms I guess. Or maybe she's just so eager to have an excuse to leave sacrament meeting for a little bit.
I made a potty chart and Natalie gets a sticker every time she goes in the toilet. She was also getting one skittle every time she made an attempt on the potty. That reward ended though once she figured out how to open the skittle jar. I caught her in the bathroom after bedtime treating herself to the rest of the potty treats.
She gets a potty prize every time she fills up a potty chart. Her first prize was this awesome bubble gun. Her second prize was silly putty. This is proof that my brain takes a vacation when I'm pregnant. Who in their right mind gives a 2-year-old silly putty? Tanner is starting to show a little interest in potty training now but no successes yet. I wish I could put them in some special potty training school or something because this is not something I'm good at. But I know eventually it will happen so I'm not stressing yet. I'll starting stressing once we get closer to preschool time. I'm currently reading
Stress-Free Potty Training. We'll see if it gives me some good ideas!
