Lagoon

We went to Lagoon the other day for our stake Lagoon day. Originally I'd planned to skip it until a friend of mine told me it's actually quite fun to just get in for free with an entrance pass and do the couple of free rides you get with coupons. So we did that! The pictures turned out pretty awful because I wasn't going to haul around my good camera when we had so much other stuff. My parents also joined us for the evening.
Tanner was hilarious on the Merry-go-Round. He clung to the pole like he was scared for his life. Sydney actually cried because she thought it was scary. Natalie looked around like she was bored out of her mind. I'm very glad we didn't actually pay for ride passes.

Ahh, the train. The only ride that is less thrilling than the Merry-go-Round. Nobody cried or even looked scared. The train ride goes around the pond and you get to see the animals they have in the park. I've always felt kind of bad for the animals in the zoo. The ones at Lagoon have it far worse I think.

My favorite part of Lagoon has to be Pioneer Village where there is suddenly way fewer people and a nice calm atmosphere. And its the perfect place to get ice cream.

Natalie was nice and clean and ate her ice cream in a timely manner.

Tanner savored his ice cream. I guess he was trying to make it last all night. Seriously, it took him at least a half hour. It was melting all over the place. He had ice cream all over his face, shirt, arms, hands, legs, and feet. He provided some good entertainment for us.

Pandora Directive

Back in the good ol' days of Access Software where my brother Rich and I worked, they produced some amazing adventure games. The Tex Murphy series included the Pandora Directive, released in 1997. Anyway, for those still reading, there was an easter egg in the game which several guys from work (including Rich) put their faces in the game in a secret room, with some audio clips. I thought Wende (Rich's wife) would appreciate a flashback of a young (I think 23 year old) Rich (that's him up top).

I've been playing this off and on for the past year, and have loved playing through it again. Nothing like DosBox and not having to swap cds.

Happy 4th of July

We had fun with sparklers after Tanner and Natalie went to bed. I bought these sparklers about 4 years ago and just now decided to break them out.

That's Josh's signature. He had to draw very fast. If I knew how to use my camera better I could probably have figured out how to give him more time but it turned out pretty good!

Happy Birthday Sydney

I'm about 2 weeks late posting about Sydney's birthday but better late than never. We decided to do a hawaiian theme "beach" party. This is because a couple months earlier they learned about Hawaii at preschool. Sydney was apparently under the impression that they would be GOING to Hawaii that day. She cried the whole way home and insisted that her teacher had told her they were going to Hawaii and I was totally wrong. I had to call her teacher and have her explain that they were only pretending about Hawaii. So we thought it would be a good idea to bring a little of Hawaii to our home on her birthday. It turned out really fun despite the fact that it poured outside all day and we could not do the "beach" part of the party. I had to think up some extra games to entertain the kids at the last minute. Sydney is super excited about being 5 now especially because it means kindergarten in a few months. Where did the time go?? We also went to the Mayan for dinner that night. Tanner granted Sydney a special birthday miracle by falling asleep on the way there and sleeping for almost the entire meal. It's way easier to eat out with only one 2-year-old to entertain instead of two! It was a very fun day.
